Could this Really Influence How You will Choose Your New Home?
The LEFT brain person is the one who feels most comfortable with math because it follows definite rules… it has structure. In fact, he admits he actually likes math!
The RIGHT brained person, on the other hand, doesn’t particularly like math. He might get the right answer, but he can’t explain how he got it… and doesn’t really care!
To use another analogy, take the student who aces English grammar – What does that have in common with math? It has structure. It follows very specific rules. LEFT Brain. Give this person a business letter or technical document to write, and it will be done to perfection.
On the other hand, there is the writer who can’t be bothered with the punctuation – he’s writing at breakneck speed to get his novel onto paper before he forgets this fantastic story racing through his mind. This is definitely RIGHT Brain. Leave him alone. He is writing from an intuitive place deep inside himself.
If you are more LEFT Brained, you appreciate the beauty of a home, but you want to know how the house is built. You look for hurricane straps in the attic, and you want to know the R-value of the insulation. Is this a house you can do something with? Does it fit your family’s needs?
By contrast, the RIGHT Brained person may be impressed with the R-value and hurricane straps, but what they really love are the esthetics of the house… The cove ceilings and great landscaping. You’ll hear them say, they’ll know the right house when they see it… “It will be the house that just feels right.”
So next time you and your spouse are looking at homes, listen to yourself … and to each other. What are the things you want to know about the house? And what are the things you feel about the house?
Fortunately most of us are a healthy blend of LEFT and RIGHT Brain, though one or the other will often show a dominance. It’s what enables a person to be an engineer, while appreciating abstract art.
Viva la differance!!

PS: I am so LEFT Brained! LOL – And yes, I loved math and majored in Accounting. What can I say!
